Perfect Crown in Royal Academy of Korea - Chapter 15

Chapter Fifteen: Snack Fairy

The face of Heejoo, who finished the last examination of the 9th grade, was bright. The composition examination, which usually had been anxious, was also solved more easily than thought. Jungwoo's help was big. A few days ago, while handing over a single file, he had said, "Look only at the topics that came out here," and it was for real. One among the things that had been inside that came out as the composition subject.

Heejoo, whose heart became a level lighter, headed to the dormitory. Setting down her bag, she packed the outing permit she had put into the drawer. There was a matter of buying snack items like chocolate. Although they sold this and that at the snack bar inside the school too, because that was too lacking in sincerity.

Coming to do this kind of thought was because of Sung Taejoo, whom she met about a week ago.

'Hey, Sung Taejoo! Do you not even give something like chocolate to your older brother?'

'What kind of dog sound is it since morning.'

'Do you know the heart of the 12th grade?'

'Would I know? When I am in the 9th grade?'

It was a day when Sung Taejoo, whom she encountered in the library hallway, kept doing a sound that didn't even make sense. She had known by hearing familiarly that the state of Sung Taejoo, who held even the graduation examination ahead of him on top of the university entrance examination, was crazy. Because it was to the extent that her father, who held no method of saying words of regret, placed a call personally.

—Give Taejoo about a single word of encouragement at least. Since he appears reasonably anxious.

Her father likewise appeared awkward to do that kind of request. But it was felt that as much as the worry lodged in that awkward manner of speaking was sincere.

When he wasn't even the type to study hard in the first place, exactly why is he trembling.

At any rate, he was a troublesome human. Tsk, Heejoo, who clicked her tongue, sought out the teacher's office on that path and cut an outing permit. It wasn't for the sake of Sung Taejoo. Her father's word of regret was a fascinating experience, but she held no intention to grant it just because of that. The more her father treasured her older brother, the more she didn't wish to do anything.

Heejoo, who couldn't help her becoming-crooked heart, recalled Jungwoo. Just as her father treasured Sung Taejoo, he was a person who treasured her. Even so, saying a sound that she was thankful was a bit embarrassing. Therefore, she was intending to gift snacks instead under the excuse of cheering on the entrance examination. Because in the entrance exam season, even an utter stranger exchanged about a degree of chocolate.

"Is it too much...?"

Heejoo murmured while looking down at the snacks entered in the bag. Because she chose just as it was caught in her hand, she had come to buy too much compared to her plan. But because there was candy next to chocolate, and there was jelly again next to that, there was no help for it. It was also that she didn't know what Jungwoo liked.

"I'll tell him to eat it until next year, what."

Heejoo, who shrugged her shoulders, headed to the lecture building. Heejoo, who arrived on the 7th floor where the 12th grade listened to classes, quickly walked along the hallway that was quiet to a fierce extent. Certainly whether it was because they held the examination ahead of them, despite it being evening time, a quite many students were guarding the classrooms.

Among them, Jungwoo was seen inside the classroom where the fewest people were. His back view, solving problems while having set up a stopwatch, was neat beyond being upright. Heejoo, who became worried belatedly what if it became a disturbance, approached raising her heels.

"Oppa."

When she called while tapping his shoulder, Jungwoo, who knitted his brows, raised his head. His eyes, which had become entirely sensitive, softened only after seeing Heejoo.

"What is it?"

"Eat this."

Heejoo, who handed over the bag with an insincere movement, scratched the back of her head for nothing. While doing the thought that as expected doing a thing she hadn't been doing didn't seem to be a good work.

Jungwoo, who saw the numerous snack items contained inside the bag, showed a bright smile.

"Did you buy it to give to me?"

"Well... Thanks to you, I saw the composition examination well."

Heejoo, who nodded her head, added, saying, "You see it well too, Oppa." What was that word that Heejoo twisted her body and feigned ignorance for nothing. Jungwoo, who endured the mind that wanted to tease her maturely, rose from his seat.

"Let's go out."

"Uh-uh, no."

"What is no?"

"When tomorrow is the examination, what do you mean."

"A brief moment is alright."

"Forget it. Do study instead."

Heejoo, who pressed Jungwoo's shoulder, said. And then she lowered her head and whispered to the utmost fiercely.

"You know the top graduate must come out from the Jujak Palace, right?"

"Do they not usually say to see it comfortably."

"I am not usual, am I."

Jungwoo, who looked at Heejoo gazing with a cheeky face, nodded his head. It was sufficient with only the not-usual Sung Heejoo having come buying snack items in a usual method.

"Me?"

While returning to the dormitory after delivering the snacks to Jungwoo, Heejoo was caught by her homeroom teacher and received an unappealing request.

"Be waiting in front of the lecture building tomorrow morning, and when the seniors are visible, hand them out one by one."

Inside the tacky basket the teacher extended, chocolate was entered to the full.

"I wish to rest tomorrow, though...."

"Aie, even so, only when the Jujak Palace top student goes and cheers will the seniors receive strength too."

"There are top students of other grades too, aren't there."

"Those kids will go out too. They will give service hours too."

"How much?"

Only then did Heejoo, whose interest was moved, ask bluntly while pretending not to care.

"Two hours?"

"Three hours."

"Shh."

"I won't do it, then."

"Ah, I got it. I got it."

Only then did Heejoo embrace the snack basket in her arms. Whether intending to express the identity called the Jujak Palace in its own way, a red ribbon was also attached to the handle.

"But this wasn't made by you, teacher, right?"

"I made it, why. Is it strange?"

"Yes, next year please request it from the art teacher."

Heejoo, who thought she said it circuitously in her own way, bowed her greeting and left the teacher's office.

The next morning, Heejoo woke up since dawn and dressed packing her school uniform. So that the Jujak Palace seniors could recognize her, she didn't forget and packed her red ceremonial robe too. Although she wondered if there were people who didn't know she belonged to the Jujak Palace, because it was the teacher's earnest request, there was no help for it.

Heejoo, who headed to the lecture building holding the chocolate basket, looked at the students drafted from other dormitories. At the Cheongryong Palace, they were playing a fool while shaking some placard, and at the Baekho Palace, they were carrying a glutinous rice cake box on their heads and backs.

"This was the better one."

Heejoo, who shrugged her shoulders looking at the tacky basket, stood in her place. She wished to hand them out to the seniors quickly and sleep her overdue sleep. For some reason, today also felt like it was colder than yesterday.

After about 10 minutes passed since lining up in front of the lecture building, the seniors began to be visible one by one. In the midst of everyone appearing tense, Dayoung, who appeared clad in a red padded jacket, appeared a bit excited.

"Taejoo's sister!"

"Did you not come together with my brother today?"

"He seems to have been tense. Saying he cannot come out from the restroom, he told me to go first."

"Ah, truly a piece of information I didn't wish to know...."

Dayoung burst into laughter at Heejoo, who was wearing an expression like she wanted to vomit. Heejoo, whose mind wanted to send her away quickly, nimbly extended a chocolate. "I'll eat well," the answering voice was cheerful.

"Is this year's snack fairy you?"

The face color of Jungwoo, who arrived following in succession, was not bad either.

"Yes, it's me. Do you want to receive too, Oppa?"

"Forget it. I received yesterday."

The expression of Jungwoo, who entered inside along with words telling her to suffer hardships, appeared relaxed without a single tension.

Other seniors were all similar. Without exception, their complexions were not good, and they took away the chocolates she extended without a complaint. Around the time the chocolates were being rapidly exhausted, the surroundings began to buzz.

It was because of Grand Prince Leean, who was walking with an expressionless face. Even if one intended not to place one's gaze, he was a person to whom one's eyes went on their own accord. It was felt that the students who came out from the Cheongryong Palace grew tense.

Heejoo clenched her fist without knowing it. It seemed the tension of the surroundings was transferred to herself too. Because that fact was oddly damaging to her self-esteem, Heejoo acted in a distracted manner, rummaging through the basket for nothing.

"......"

But the moment she raised her head, their gazes entangled. Grand Prince Leean, who raised his eyebrows as if having recognized her, moved his steps with big strides without blinking an eye even once. He, whose stride was wide as much as his long legs, approached right under her nose in an instant.

Looking down as if he had some words to say, he extended his hand thoughtlessly.

"Give me too."

"Pardon?"

"That."

Grand Prince Leean, who pointed at the chocolate with a nod of his head, said. The flustered Heejoo looked at the Cheongryong Palace students. The placard and candy they were holding appeared shameless.

"I am the Jujak Palace, though."

"So?"

"......"

Heejoo, who had been holding out with a displeased face, extended a chocolate. Because there was no talk telling her to take care of only the same dormitory seniors.

Pfft, Grand Prince Leean, who showed a laugh, took the chocolate. The touch of his fingertip grazed her palm. Looking at his back departing without even a greeting saying thank you, Heejoo thought.

"Unlucky."

It was a consistent evaluation.
